#88 Brooklyn Copeland-Johnson: This Is What Is Going to Happen Next
Brooklyn Copeland-Johnson’s mother couldn’t decide between Brook and Lyn. Her father worked the Bear Squad at concerts and Brooklyn’s first concert was KISS, while she was still in the womb. Brooklyn mostly grew up in Hamilton County, in Indiana, which is full of small towns and cornfields. Despite all kinds of family dysfunction, she had a typical small town childhood. In high school, she was an exchange student for a year in Finland, where she grew dreadlocks and began her love affair with all things Scandinavian. Flying home from Finland, she remembers feeling confident that the rest of her teenage years would be a cinch and they were. In college, she went abroad for a year to study philosophy in England, but hated it and stopped going to classes. That’s where she met her husband, Adam, though, so it worked out, just not how she expected. Brooklyn loves Adam’s generosity, his accent, how tall he is, how smart he is, and how much he loves her. Brooklyn works as a group fitness instructor, teaching aqua classes and senior fitness classes. Brooklyn is ambidextrous, except for her left ear, which is largely impaired. Her mother is her best friend and will be a kick-ass grandmother. One of Brooklyn’s grandmothers read tarot cards and palms for a living and Brooklyn has a sense of her future from readings and charts and paths and signs. Here’s what is going to happen next: Brooklyn is going to finish school and then settle down in an old farmhouse in Finland--with an old Volvo and an old apple tree out front. This will be in an old small town that gets blasted by winter blizzards every year and she’ll be there with the love of her life (Adam), their four oddly-named boys (Arlo, Felix, Linus, and Wren), and their playful cocker spaniel.
